Programs
Green Works
Green Works is a re-imagined version of Green Street Studios’ Emerging Artist/New Works program, which has supported the development of new works for more than ten years. Green Works is an expansion of that program, which now includes two choreographic workshop sessions for choreographers to deepen their creative research and two works-in-progress showings for choreographers to engage in facilitated, rigorous dialogue about their developing projects while in residence at Green Street Studios.
Whether you are looking for support for your first work or your fifteenth, this program is for you!
Green Works includes:
- 20 hours of rehearsal space at Green Street Studios
- 2 evenings of a fully produced concert at Green Street Studios with selected artists
- 4 process sessions with facilitators and peer artists
- a chance to meet new dancers in the first working studio session
- experience collaboratively self-producing a concert
- discounted Moving Target classes for you and all dancers for the duration of the program
Spring 2014 Green Works Concert: April 18 &19
Playground
Playground is a subsidiary program of Green Works that gives dancers and Green WOrks choreographers for a chance to work and play; to experiment, connect, and create.
IN a free dance research session, we welcome all dancers interested in participating in a creative process…. No strings attached… Just show up with an open mind, ready to explore, to encounter new ideas and new artists, and to see what emerges. Stay tuned for upcoming dates.
Moving Target
MT Classes are contemporary movement classes taught by a rotating group of working artists and master teachers from Boston and beyond.
The series establishes a community around training together with class giving and taking as shared investments in physical inquiry; addresses categories of contemporary dance practice currently underrepresented in Boston; gathers Boston’s next generation of dance artists and teachers; connects artists across cities; and generates the seeds of new projects.
Classes are a chance to work out and work on new or old ideas, a place to give voice to both fresh and seasoned faces, to sweat, laugh, and have fun dancing together.
The first Moving Target IN CONCERT: March 22, 8pm
